Do you think I’ll be able to finish another two dozen products before the end of this year? Because that’s the goal. I’d love to finish three dozen, as that would mean I used up over 100 products throughout 2019, but that might be pushing it a bit. Either way, I’m really proud of myself for buying less in terms of beauty products, and instead working through what I already have—it feels great! Here’s what I’ve recently used up:
Haircare
Avalon Organics Clarifying Lemon Shampoo*
Pros: Removes dulling product buildup, brings out my natural highlights, leaves hair feeling clean, smells awesome (like iced tea), free of any harsh ingredients, vegan, cruelty-free
Cons: Don’t like it as much as the Live Clean Apple Cider Clarifying Shampoo
Repurchase? Maybe.
Avalon Organics Clarifying Lemon Conditioner*
Pros: Smelt awesome (before it went off), free of any harsh ingredients, vegan, cruelty-free
Cons: Conditioner has a very thick consistency that doesn’t penetrate the hair well, cannot comb this through your hair, hard to get out of the bottle, made my hair feel dry, didn’t actually finish this as it started to smell off
Repurchase? No.
Pantene Pro-V Extra Strong Hold Hairspray
Pros: Decent staying power, smells good, get a ton of product for the price
Cons: Feels very sticky, makes my hair feel crispy, not great against humidity
Repurchase? No. The maximum hold formula is so much better than this one.

Skincare
Avène DermAbsolu Youth Eye Cream
Pros: Very gentle eye cream, good for sensitive skin, moisturizing, metal applicator is very cooling and helped reduce puffiness and wake up the skin
Cons: Pricey, split right below the applicator causing too much product to come out
Repurchase? Undecided.
Live Clean Face Mineral Sunscreen Lotion*
Pros: Never got burnt using this, didn’t break me out, water resistant (80 mins), contains no chemical sunscreen, non-nano, eco-friendly, 98% naturally derived, vegan, cruelty-free
Cons: Quite whitening despite claiming to be non-whitening, takes a bit of time to sink into the skin, didn’t get to finish this before it expired
Repurchase? Maybe. Will probably try Live Clean’s other sunscreens first and compare.
Scrub Inspired Champagne Sugar Lip Scrub
Pros: Smells and tastes great, leaves my lips smooth and soft, not too gentle/too abrasive, 100% natural, contains only 5 ingredients, affordable, cruelty-free
Cons: Have to be careful not to get water in the container, as it will cause the product to go off faster
Repurchase? Yes.
Zoella Beauty Wonder Hand Moisturizing Hand Cream
Pros: Love the scent, good lightweight hand cream to use during the day
Cons: Wish it came in a more purse friendly size, Zoella Beauty is being dissolved in 2020, so this will no longer be available
Repurchase? I would.
Bath & Body
365 Everyday Value Fragrance Free Body Lotion
Pros: Gentle, moisturizing, fragrance-free, affordable, vegan
Cons: Took awhile to sink into the skin, didn’t like the smell of this even though it’s fragrance-free, bought it for a new tattoo and just wasn’t a fan
Repurchase? No.

Makeup
BareMinerals BareSkin Complete Coverage Serum Concealer in ‘Light’
Pros: Lightweight concealer that offers good coverage, covers blemishes, brightens my under eye area, blends well into the skin, doesn’t crease or cake on me, a little goes a long way, lasted me quite awhile, cruelty-free
Cons: Does not mix well with sweat, pricey
Repurchase? Yes.
Wet n Wild Photo Focus Pressed Powder in ‘Warm Light’
Pros: Really like how this looks on my skin, sets my makeup nicely, looks good on its own, sheer coverage that looks natural, light-diffusing pigments is good for photos, cruelty-free (technically)
Cons: Has a hard layer to it at first (goes away after a few uses), compact completely fell apart, doesn’t keep me shine-free, wish it had a mirror
Repurchase? Yes.
Urban Decay De-Slick Oil-Control Makeup Setting Spray
Pros: Really does keep my makeup in place, control oil and deflect surface shine, makeup doesn’t budge even in the humidity, don’t need to powder my face as much, said to actually lower the temperature of your makeup, weightless on the skin, cruelty-free
Cons: Pricey, hard to sprits out near the end
Repurchase? Yes, but I’ll probably try some other setting sprays first.
Fragrance
Zoella Beauty Blissful Mistful Fragrance Mist*
Pros: Love the scent, decent staying power, good size for traveling
Cons: Zoella Beauty is being dissolved in 2020, so this will no longer be available
Repurchase? I would.
