A September To-Do List

End table with picture, plant, book, eyeglasses and cup of tea.

As we savour the last few days of August and get ready to transition into September, I wanted to put together this short and sweet post of my September to-do list. September has always felt like a fresh start for me; with back-to-school, my birthday and the change in seasons, I always find I’m able to draw new inspiration and motivation. I also think it’s the perfect time to revisit and reflect on those intentions we set at the beginning of the year. Here’s everything I’m hoping to check off my list for this month:

Get Back into the Gym

After almost nine years, my free gym membership came to an end at the end of July. I can’t remember the last time I’ve gone this long without going to the gym, but I’m definitely starting to notice the affect on my mental health. I can’t wait to get back into my regular gym routine because I really miss it—both mentally and physically.

See a Film at the Toronto International Film Festival

I love TIFF so much, but I didn’t get a chance to see any films at last year’s festival, as I was too busy. I’ll definitely be making the time to see at least one film this year, and of course, I’m leaning towards a horror/thriller (The Lighthouse and The Vast of Night are the two I’m currently most intrigued by).

Finish Two Books

I haven’t been reading as much as I should be, so I’m setting a goal of reading two books for September, which is totally doable if I make the time for it. I’m just starting Acceptance, which is the final book in Jeff VanderMeer’s Southern Reach Trilogy, and then I’ve got a pile of books to choose from after that.

Create a Pinterest Business Account

I said back in this post that I wanted to start using Pinterest again, and I think I maybe logged into my Pinterest account once since then. Pinterest is supposed to be great in helping drive traffic to your blog, so I really need to start utilizing that, as I’d like to start seeing more growth on my page.

Enjoy My 29th Birthday

It’s weird seeing that number. Part of me isn’t quite ready to enter the last year of my 20s, but another part of me totally is. Regardless, I’m going to try my best to enjoy my birthday this year with those closest to me, and try not to overthink it—so pass me the bottle of wine!

How do you feel about September? Do you have a to-do list of your own for the month?

  1. September always feels like the perfect time to check in on goals/set new ones. It’s 6 weeks to Thanksgiving (Canadian one at least), which is perfect for goal setting!

I’m concentrating on continuing my walking challenge (I have 780/1019kms done for this year), writing more, and reaching out to other bloggers more!

Btw: born and raised Toronto-gal here, and never been to TIFF – what’s it like?

Couldn’t agree more! Love the idea of a walking challenge. I also really need to start writing more, and reach out to other bloggers more as well (So, cheers to leaving me this lovely comment!).

And TIFF is a lot of fun. A ton of stars come out for their films, so it draws a huge crowd, but I personally love the hustle and bustle of it. There’s also always a great mix of films from all over the world, so there’s something for everyone. 🙂
