For the past year, I’ve really been trying to streamline my skincare by finding out what my skin needs depending on the season, and sticking with products and ingredients that work for my skin. I’ve also been exploring more natural products that don’t break the bank, as I think natural is best, and there’s no need to pay a hefty price tag for it. The following five natural skincare products have seriously been rocking my world, and they can all be found at Whole Foods Market for under C$20.
Weleda Skin Food I recently added this back into my stash as a multipurpose product to use before bed. This rich cream really is effective in terms of hydration, not only for your hands and feet, but also for any dry patches on your skin. I tend to get dry patches on my forehead and around my nose, and this helps eliminate that allowing my makeup to go on so much smoother. I also find the rosemary leaf in here helps with the circulation in my hands and feet, whilst chamomile and calendula help soothe the skin.
Scrub Inspired Champagne Sugar Lip Scrub I’m still loving this lip scrub, which I’ve almost finished up. Though I was using this a ton throughout the fall and winter, I still love using this in the summer to help rejuvenate my lips after a day in the sun, as well as to prep them before applying a bright, summery lip colour. This lip scrub looks, smells and tastes great with only five natural ingredients. The perfect balance of sugar and oils effectively exfoliates my lips leaving them smoother and softer.
I’m so happy Whole Foods Market now carries Acure, as I’ve been wanting to try more of their products ever since I was first introduced to them in 2015 (shoutout to Ipsy). All of Acure’s products are free of nasty ingredients, and they are cruelty-free and 100% vegan. Their products also look and feel very high-end without the high-end price tag. I’m so excited to try more by this brand, but right now here are the two products I’m currently using and loving:
Acure Seriously Soothing Cleansing Cream Cream cleansers seem to work best for my skin, as I find they tend to be more gentle and they also do not strip my skin. With ingredients like chamomile, sunflower amino acids, argan oil and peony extract, this not only soothes and calms my skin, but also leaves it feeling moisturized, which I never get from a face wash. It also seems to remove my makeup pretty well (though I do always use coconut oil first), and I love the scent of this.
Acure Seriously Soothing Blue Tansy Night Oil I have been wanting to try this product for months, as it had great reviews, and I was also really curious about the antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties of blue tansy oil. I’ve only been using this for a couple weeks, but I already feel like it’s helped balance out my skin, and I swear this is what healed my skin after I had a nasty breakout from an expired foundation. On top of that, the scent of this is so relaxing to use before bed, and the blue tansy oil naturally gives this product a beautiful blue tint. My mom has also really been loving this night oil!
Whole Foods Market Organic Vanilla Honey Lip Balm Ending this post with the same product I ended with in this post, so I’ll try to keep this short and sweet. I still stand by this being one of the best lip balms I have ever tried. From the price ($1.99!) to the organic ingredients to the effectiveness in giving my lips long-lasting moisture, it really can’t be beat. It also comes in three other scents if this one is not for you, as some people seem to not be a fan of the natural scent, but it doesn’t bother me (though a more prominent vanilla scent would be nice).
Have you tried any of these products before? What natural skincare products are you currently using/loving?
