To all of my Canadian readers—I hope you had a great August Long Weekend! I escaped the city and headed up north to a friend’s cottage for the long weekend, and enjoyed the beautiful weather—which was the complete opposite to the severe rainstorm and flash flooding Toronto got hit with last night—so crazy! Anyways, nothing too crazy here in regards to today’s blogpost, just another good ol’ Product Empties post! Here’s what I’ve recently finished up:
Pros: Gives my hair noticeable volume and texture, easily absorbs excess oil, smells great, inexpensive
Cons: Tend to get product buildup more quickly when I use this formula
Pros: Smells amazing, inexpensive, no white residue, absorbs excess oil
Cons: Don’t find it as effective as other dry shampoos
Pros: Fine mist that sprays evenly, smells good enough to be a perfume (like roses), helps protect your hair from humidity, frizz and flyaways, doesn’t make my hair crunchy
Cons: Gives more of a natural hold to your hair, so not the best for when my hair is curled, pricier for a drugstore hairspray
Repurchase? I probably wouldn’t repurchase this one, but I would definitely try other L’Oreal Elnett hairsprays.
The Body Shop Aloe Lip Care
Pros: Designed specifically for sensitive skin and very dry lips, really helps to condition and soothe your lips, works best as an overnight balm, but could also be worn as a gloss during the day, smells good
Cons: Discontinued, is quite sticky on the lips
Repurchase? If it was still available I would.
Bath & Body
Pros: The aromatic rosemary scent is both stimulating and calming for the mind and body, lathers up well/bubbles up well as both a bath and shower gel, uses organic, plant-based ingredients to nourish the skin, gentle, free of any nasty ingredients, vegan, cruelty-free
Cons: Hard to find in-store
Repurchase? Yes, I adore this product!
Pros: Smells amazing, lathers up well, washes off easily, leaves skin feeling soft and clean, pH balanced, affordable
Cons: Can’t think of anything
Pros: Creates a rich lather, really does leave the skin feeling nourished, skin feels smooth and soft, so much, so that I don’t even need to moisturize afterwards, smells great, affordable
Cons: Feel like I went through this really quickly
Pros: Evens out skin tone, paraben-free, cruelty-free, inexpensive, smells like hot chocolate, dry skin is nonexistent for me with this product, skin feels incredibly soft
Cons: A lot of times it’s not in stock
Pros: Is white cast-free under seven different lighting conditions, looks great in photos, good coverage, does not crease or cake whatsoever, easily conceals and brightens my under eye area, covers blemishes well, affordable, cruelty-free
Cons: Literally only know of one Walmart that carries this concealer
Pros: Looks incredibly natural on the skin, sets makeup perfectly, reduces shine significantly, mattifies the skin, very affordable, cruelty-free
Cons: Wish it had a mirror for on the go touch ups, tend to go through this product pretty quickly, powder has a tendency to break once you hit pan on it
Pros: Easily separates and lengthens my lashes, does not flake or smudge, love the tapered brush on it, affordable, overall, good everyday mascara
Cons: Doesn’t deliver in regards to volume like it promises, once it started to dry out it started to clump really bad in the tube
Repurchase? Probably not. It’s not a bad mascara, it’s just that there are other drugstore mascaras I prefer.
Pros: Smells incredible, not too sickly sweet or overpowering, good staying power, beautiful packaging
Cons: Pricey, hard to get ahold of in Canada, lid never closed properly causing the product to leak
Repurchase? This is my favourite fragrance, but I won’t be repurchasing this rollerball again because it’s nearly impossible to find in Canada and both times I’ve bought it, it’s leaked on me.
