Happy Canada Day to all of my fellow Canadian readers! I hope you all have had a great long weekend so far, and took advantage of the beautiful weather! To kick start my long weekend, I actually treated myself to a little pampering Friday night to get me feeling my best before the weekend. Here’s some of the products that made an appearance that evening.
Ole Henriksen Pore-Balance Facial Sauna Scrub I love my self-heating face masks, so it’s only natural that I would also love a self-heating facial scrub. Inspired by traditional Scandinavian Spas (which is funny because the smell of this actually reminds me of the Scandinave Spa in Blue Mountain), this scrub has a dual warming and cooling action that works to purify the skin, minimize the appearance of pores and absorb excess oil, whilst removing dead skin cells. This is just a travel size that I got from Sephora, but I do want to purchase the full size of it, as it works really well.
Rocky Mountain Soap Company Bamboo Body Scrub* I have been really bad for not exfoliating my body as much as I usually do, but this 100% natural and toxin-free scrub has gotten me back into the regime. The combination of peppermint and spearmint oil, along with orange and grapefruit oil, is incredibly invigorating and leaves you smelling like a mojito (you can even see the bits of mint leaf in this scrub). Bamboo powder and salt work to gently exfoliate the skin and leaves my body feeling smooth and soft.
Neutrogena Hydro Boost Hydrating Hydrogel Mask* I received this mask complimentary for testing purposes, courtesy of Influenster, and it was just what I needed to give my skin a surge of moisture before the weekend. This mask contains hyaluronic acid and is made completely out of hydrogel, which allows the mask to easily adhere to the skin, and keeps the formula sealed in—and because it comes in two pieces it gives the mask a better fit. This mask gives the skin so much hydration, but it is a very wet mask, so make sure you open it over the sink and not your bed like I did. That said, I definitely want to stock up on a few of these to have on hand after a day in the sun!
China Glaze Nail Polish in ‘It’s a Match’* I mentioned in my last post that this will be my go-to nail colour for the summer, so of course that’s what I chose to paint my toes with. As mentioned, this peachy nude crème shade looks amazing with a tan and because it is a more nude colour, it’s an easy and effortless shade to wear on your nails for the summertime.
Purple Tree Shea Butter Miracle Balm* Before I called it a night, I slathered this multipurpose balm on my lips and hands. Shea butter offers a ton of moisture and also helps with inflammation, so it is very beneficial for the skin. On top of being vegan and cruelty-free, this balm also smells like chocolate, which I can’t get enough of. It also says you can use this on your brows and lashes, but I haven’t given that a go yet.
I hope you enjoyed this instalment of ‘Sunday Stuff’—you can also read last one here. Happy Sunday everyone!
