My mom is a big fan of Andalou Naturals and had bought me this kit, so I could try some of their products out myself. I love their empowering motto, Beauty is YOU, and that they strive to advocate for the consumer and influence the industry to do better. If you didn’t know, Andalou Naturals is actually the first Non-GMO Project Verified beauty brand. Along with being non-GMO, Andalou Naturals is also cruelty-free, gluten-free and free of any nasty ingredients.
The kit my mom got me is their Sensitive Get Started Kit, which is designed for delicate and dry skin that is easily irritated, as well as uneven and blotchy. The sensitive range uses PhytoCellTec Alpine Rose Stem Cells, which helps to maintain the characteristics of skin cells and protect against UV-stress. This works to support the skin’s hydro lipid barrier and help counteract inflammation and premature aging. The other key ingredients in this range—which pair perfectly with the rose stem cells—includes pomegranate, which is beneficial for combating skin damage, as well as hyaluronic acid and aloe vera, which help to revive the skin’s moisture barrier.
The entire Sensitive collection by Andalou Naturals is vegan and all of the products in this collection has that wonderful, aromatic rose scent. The five products included in this great little kit include:
1000 Roses Pearl Exfoliator This is a very gentle exfoliator that is designed to remove impurities, along with dry, dead surface cells. The beads in here are formulated with jojoba esters, making them super nourishing, and the manufacturing process makes these beads 100% environmentally friendly and biodegradable. When it comes to exfoliators, this is a great option for very sensitive skin, but I personally prefer my face scrubs to be a bit more abrasive. That being said, I would consider buying this to use as a daily face wash, as it left my skin feeling really cleansed and soft after using it.
1000 Roses Floral Toner This toner is so soothing and refreshing on the skin and helps to restore the skin’s delicate pH balance. Thanks to rosewater’s anti-inflammatory properties, this really helped reduce the redness in my skin and minimize breakouts. This is such a great toner for easily irritated skin, as it’s incredibly gentle for an astringent. I absolutely loved using this every morning and I definitely want to purchase the full-size—which comes in a mist—making it even more desirable.
1000 Roses Rosewater Mask This revitalizing mask, along with the day and night cream, are all designed to deliver essential hydration and dermal vitality to the skin, leaving it feeling soothed and nourished. This mask, however, is just okay. What puts me off it is the fact that you can’t see this mask on the skin, as it applies pretty identical to the day cream. I much prefer thicker masks that are visible on the skin, but if you have a hard time finding a gentle face mask for your skin, then you may get on great with this one.
1000 Roses Beautiful Day Cream This day cream is a great, lightweight option that absorbs quickly into the skin, leaving it feeling moisturized and creating a smooth base for applying makeup on top of. It’s described as a ‘satin soft cream’, which is exactly what it feels like, which I love. Though right now my skin needs something richer with the colder weather, I would definitely purchase the full-size of this come spring.
1000 Roses Heavenly Night Cream And lastly, the night cream. I really enjoyed applying this at night, as the aromatic rose scent is so relaxing and calming to use before bed. It feels a little thicker compared to the day cream, but overall, it’s very similar. I think this would be a great option for someone in their late teens or early 20s, but because I’m now 27 I need my night creams to be a bit more intense.
Overall, this is such a handy little kit to help introduce you to the brand and test out some of the products before purchasing their full-size counterparts. Each product in the set is generously-sized, allowing you to be able to properly test them out and they’re also perfect for traveling.
Along with the the Sensitive Get Started Kit, Andalou Naturals also offers kits for their Age Defying, Brightening (I really want to try this one) and Clear Skin ranges. Each kit retails for around $19.99 and is a $30.00 value.
