Testing Out Avalon Organics

I have never actually tried anything by Avalon Organics, but it’s one of those brands I always look at and tell myself I need to try. I love their passion towards organic beauty and the simplicity in the range of formulas that they offer. So, when I received a package of some of their products to try out, I was absolutely thrilled to finally be able to put this brand to the test!

Avalon Organics strongly believes that all beauty comes from the Earth and they stand behind their five values and beliefs, which are:

Pure – Using pure ingredients that are safe for both us and the Earth

True – Being transparent in regards to their formulas and their dedication to supporting organic agriculture

Kind – All of their products are vegan (aside from their lip balms, which contain organic beeswax) and cruelty-free and Avalon Organics has the Leaping Bunny Program stamp of approval

Safe – Creating sustainable products that are not only good for the body, but for the environment as well

Grow – Delivering innovated products that are constantly being evolved and perfected

If you’re interested in learning more about Avalon Organics’s background and vision, you can do so here. I have been testing these products out for the last month and a bit and I am so excited to finally be able to share my thoughts!

IMG_6457Avalon Organics Clarifying Lemon Shampoo* This was the product I was most drawn towards out of the bunch, as I love a good clarifying shampoo to remove product buildup and help eliminate excess oils. Lemon essential oil is the main star here and is especially great for combating an oily scalp, as well as dandruff. The other main ingredients include quinoa protein, aloe and vitamin E, which all work to repair and hydrate the hair and scalp. This is a super effective clarifying shampoo and I absolutely love the slightly sweet, lemony scent of this. On top of that, it lathers up well, washes out fine and it’s probably my favourite out of everything here.

Avalon Organics Clarifying Lemon Conditioner* Like the shampoo, this conditioner has that same wonderful scent and also contains lemon essential oil, quinoa protein, aloe and vitamin E, as well as chamomile extract, which has a ton of benefits including minimizing split ends and helping with hair growth. I find this does have a weird consistency for a conditioner—it’s pretty thick and reminds me more of a lotion and I find it doesn’t really detangle my hair in the shower like most conditioners do when you apply them. However, once my hair was brushed and dried it looked and felt much healthier.

** Lemon is a natural brightener and these products do help bring out natural highlights, so be aware of that.

Avalon Organics Revitalizing Peppermint Glycerin Hand Soap* I am an avid hand washer, which means my hands tend to get really dry from using soaps that strip the skin. Going more natural in regards to hand soap is such a better option for me and this one is designed specifically for frequent hand washing. Glycerin is excellent for combating dry, irritated skin and this also contains orange peel, which also helps to combat dry skin, and vitamin E, which is very moisturizing on the skin. The real winner is the peppermint though, as it is slightly stimulating and helps with my poor blood circulation.

Avalon Organics Rejuvenating Rosemary Bath & Shower Gel* I wasn’t sure how I would feel about the scent of this one, but I was surprised by how much I ended up loving it. It is such an aromatic and invigorating scent that completely relaxes me. The gentle formula of this lathers up perfectly and leaves my skin feeling soft and clean. Along with rosemary essential oil, this also contains calendula, aloe and other botanical cleansers to nourish the skin. The scent of this makes it especially nice to use in the evening to unwind with.

Avalon Organics Nourishing Lavender Hand & Body Lotion* This hand and body lotion is chock full of nourishing ingredients including aloe, plant lipids, beta-glucan and of course, lavender essential oil. This left my skin super soft and hydrated and I love the pump on this, but—like most more natural lotions—I feel like this takes some time to sink completely into the skin. Unfortunately, I am not a huge fan of lavender by itself, so this scent just isn’t for me. I ended up giving this to my sister who loves lavender, so at least it is gone to a good home.

I am so impressed with Avalon Organics’s products and there are so many more products I would love to try by them. I’m definitely interested in their Intense Defense skincare range, as well as the Biotin B-Complex Thickening Shampoo and the Aloe Unscented Moisturizing Cream Shave.

Have you tried Avalon Organics before? What are your thoughts?
