I had desperately been wanting to treat myself to some new high-end makeup and decided to finally redeem my Shoppers Optimum Points that I had been accumulating. I decided to try ordering online through the beautyBOUTIQUE by Shoppers Drug Mart and I was thrilled with the whole entire experience. The website is easy to navigate and use, my products arrived quickly and it was packaged so carefully and everything just looked so pretty—I knew I had to blog about it as soon as I opened it!
If you’re not familiar with Shoppers Optimum Points, it is a point system Shoppers Drug Mart offers that awards you 10 optimum point for every $1 spent in-store or online. However, they always have different deals on like 20x the points or bonus points when you purchase certain items or spend a certain amount. So, it is easy to quickly gain a ton of points. For this haul I did two separate online orders; I redeemed 50, 000 points on my first order, which meant I saved $85 and on my second order I redeemed 22, 000 points, which means I saved $30. I also had a $10 off code that I used on my first order, which brought me to a total savings of $125 altogether. Not too bad, eh?
Shipping is also free for orders over $50 (Note: Shoppers Drug Mart is a Canadian company, so they only ship to Canadian postal codes) and you also get three free samples with every order, which come wrapped in a dainty little sachet bag. The samples shown here are the Chloé Fleur de Parfum, the Fusion Beauty Lashfusion Armour Lash Primer and the Avène TriXera Nutrition Nutri-Fluid Lotion.
Anyways, let’s move on to the products that I picked up:
Guerlain L’Or Radiance Concentrate with Pure Gold Firstly, the product that is the reason for this entire haul. I had been really itching for a new luxury product and I have had my eyes on this primer for ages. I could never justify spending the money on this luxury product, but thanks to my Shoppers Optimum Points, this baby was free. This radiant primer is infused with 24-carat gold, which acts as a skin enhancer and also helps the skin to retain moisture. The gel formula of this feels amazing on the skin and instantly firms and tightens the skin and smoothes over any fine lines and imperfections. It is perfect just to wear on its own or under makeup.
Clarins Instant Light Lip Balm Perfector in ‘Rose’ Another product I had been eyeing for ages are these Clarins lip balms and I am already obsessed. I love the formula of this, as it is lightweight and feels so nourishing on the lips thanks to ingredients like mango and shea butter. The colour is very sheer—which I love—as it makes it so easy to wear throughout the day and this particular shade just enhances my natural lip colour beautifully and fills in any fine lines making my lips look seriously perfected. I also love the packaging and the cotton candy scent aka this product is going to be living in my handbag.
Nuxe Rêve de Miel Ultra-Nourishing Lip Balm I have been needing a new lip balm specifically for the nighttime and decided to finally give this one a try. I have always heard great things about this product, which is one of their best sellers, and I like that it contains 80% natural ingredients. Honey is the main star here, as well as oils such as sunflower and almond oil that work to nourish, repair, soothe and protect dry, damaged lips. This also smells like grapefruit, which I love.
Lise Watier Oil Blotting Papers I was in need of more blotting papers and since my super affordable ones by Essence always seem to be sold out, I figured I would give these ones a go. Lise Watier is one of those brands that I have tried so many samples of their products (quite a few which I have enjoyed), but I have never actually purchased anything by them. This one comes with 50 oil blotting papers that are perfect for taking on-the-go to eliminate any pesky shine without disrupting your makeup.
Bourjois Java Rice Powder Okay, I may have grabbed this solely for the amazing apothecary style packaging. To celebrate their 150th anniversary, they brought out this vintage edition of their Java Rice Powder. I always see UK bloggers raving about this French brand, but I have yet to try anything by them. So, I figured why not start off with their first best-seller? This loose powder is so feathery light on the skin and not only sets your makeup, but gives your complexion a luminous and radiant glow. I also believe Bourjois is only sold at Shoppers Drug Mart here in Canada.
Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet Lipstick in ‘So Hap-Pink’ Like Sephora, the beautyBOUTIQUE also always has free gifts with online purchases. I received this lipstick with my second order and was thrilled to find out it was not only the full-size, but that the shade I received is this beautiful soft pink that is right up my alley. These have a soft and velvety texture that dries down matte without feeling drying or heavy on the lips. I haven’t opened this yet, as I want to wait and finish up some other lip products first, but it’s raved about by bloggers, so I have high hopes.
Overall, I am thrilled with all these new products I have to try and thanks to Shoppers Drug Mart I didn’t have to break the bank to get them!
Have any other fellow Canadians shopped the beautyBOUTIQUE by Shoppers Drug Mart? I’m obsessed!
