Happy Easter Monday! I am so happy to be back to blogging regularly, as I have missed it so much. I am also so happy that it is finally starting to feel like spring here with the sun shining, things beginning to bloom and I am even willing to embrace the April showers.
Since the weather is warming up I am beginning to switch up some of my beauty products in terms of shades and formulas. If you want to see my ‘Spring Beauty Picks’ for this season then just carry on reading!
bareMinerals Complexion Rescue Tinted Hydrating Gel Cream in ‘Vanilla’ This is still one of my all time favourites bases and though I will use it anytime of the year, it is especially perfect for the spring and summer months. I love this product because it does everything it promises. It is hydrating and offers sheer-to-medium coverage, which means it lets you freckles still shine through, whilst hiding any discolouration. It leaves my complexion so dewy and healthy looking and tI just love the radiance this gives my skin.
Stila All Over Shimmer Liquid Luminizer in ‘Kitten Shimmer’ Unfortunately, this product does not seem to be available anymore (which means I should probably make the effort to use this up, as it is probably nearing its expiry date). As I have mentioned before, I love mixing a liquid luminizer with my daily moisturizer during the warmer months. This blends so easily into the skin and just gives the face a beautiful and illuminating glow without looking too shimmery and unnatural. I usually reach for this when I want to wear minimal makeup, but want to give my skin a bit of a boost.
by nanda Three Color Blush in ’01’* You guys are probably sick of hearing about this blush on here, but I am still loving it and am still planning on reaching for it regularly for the spring. The three shades work wonderfully together and I love the radiant, healthy glow I get from this. As mentioned, I also love how easily this blends into the skin and I feel like you can’t go overboard with this blush. I am especially excited to use this once I have a bit of a tan.
Chella Latte Highlighter Pencil* To balance out all of these shimmery products I am reaching for this neutral highlighter pencil. Even though this flesh toned pencil is designed for medium skin tones I find it is still light enough for me to use (FYI – it is a lot lighter than the website shows it). This product looks so natural on my skin and the creamy formula of this pencil makes it so easy to use. I highlight my brow bone, Cupid’s bow and the inner corners of my eyes with this and the results are absolutely perfect.
Pixi Shea Butter Lip Balm With the warmer weather I absolutely love reaching for these hydrating tinted balms by Pixi. They are so nourishing on the lips with ingredients like shea butter and vitamin E and though they are very pigmented for a balm they are not drying in the least. I love that I can control how much colour I want and they also make a fabulous cream blush. The shade Pixi Pink is a bright pink that is perfect for this time of year, while the shade Honey Nectar is a beautiful nude.
Essence Liquid Lipstick in ‘Beauty Secret’ I cannot find this specific shade online, but I know my local drugstore still carries these affordable liquid lipsticks. I don’t typically reach for a liquid lipstick, but I love the formula of this one as it is creamy and non-drying on the lips. It is also not sticky and I love the doe foot applicator it has. The shade is also so easy to wear for everyday and I also love the scent of these.
Sally Hansen Nail Polish I have still been so lazy when it comes to painting my nails, but now that school is almost done I feel like I will go back to painting my nails more regularly. And in regards to drugstore polishes, even though Essie will always have the best shade range, Sally Hansen will always win in formula. The Insta-Dri Nail Color in ‘Petal Pusher’ is a pretty baby pink that dries quickly and is perfect for the springtime. However, one of my all time favourite nail polishes is the Hard as Nails Xtreme Nail Color in ‘Lacey Lilac’. I have been obsessed with this pale lilac shade for years, but will only wear it in the spring. Both polishes are also opaque in one coat which is great.
