There’s no denying my blog has been a tad neglected for the month of March because of school, but there’s only one more week of class to go and I couldn’t be more excited! I have also been very adamant in regularly reaching for older products and products that are nearly finished in an attempt to use them up and downsize my ever growing collection of beauty products.
I have managed to use up a ton of products this month, so here’s the first dozen empties I have to share with you!
Pros: Really affordable, smells good, no white residue, refreshes the hair and gives it more texture
Cons: I feel like I have to use a lot of this to get it to be effective
Repurchase? I probably will, but it’s not my favourite dry shampoo.
Pantene Curly Satin Hold Hairspray (no longer available)
Pros: Affordable, smells good, enhances your natural curls/waves, doesn’t make hair crispy, gives the hair just enough hold and texture, smooths frizz
Cons: No longer available
Repurchase? If it was still available, yes.
Pros: Easily removed makeup, no nasty ingredients, cruelty-free, made in Canada
Cons: This really irritated and stung my eyes, felt like this left a film on my skin which I didn’t like
Pros: Refreshing, perks up the skin, water stays cold in the can, soothes and calms any redness and irritation, great for soothing a burn, very gentle and suitable for sensitive skin
Repurchase? Already have!
Pros: Very nourishing face oil, 100% natural, no nasty ingredients, cruelty-free, vegan, handmade in Canada, sinks quickly into the skin, does not make the skin more oily, softens and smooths the skin, helped minimize blemishes
Cons: The paper label got stained by the oil (not really a con, but more an aesthetic thing), can only get it online, pricey
Pros: Very moisturizing, relieves any dryness, lightweight, smells good, anti-aging, wears wonderfully under lipstick
Cons: Found I went through this fast, not a huge fan of the packaging, hard to find
Repurchase? Yes, this is an incredible lip balm!
Pros: Smells good, a little goes a long way
Cons: This tended to get chunky on my lips, so not ideal for during the day, in a jar (contaminating), found this not to be that moisturizing
Repurchase? No. I personally wasn’t a fan.
The Body Shop Frosted Berries Hand Cream (seasonal product)
Pros: Smells delicious, absorbs quickly into the skin, non-greasy, non-irritating, hydrating, good for during the day
Cons: Seasonal scent
Repurchase? If they bring this back for the holidays I will!
Bath & Body
Pros: 100% natural, no nasty ingredients, vegan, cruelty-free, handmade in Canada, detoxifying, extremely effective scrub, leaves skin smooth and soft
Cons: Can be a bit messy to use
The Body Shop Cocoa Butter Cream Body Scrub (can’t seem to find it online)
Pros: Smelt good (at the beginning), liked the consistency, softening on the skin
Cons: Not as exfoliating and effective as I would like, I also think this got contaminated because near the end it started to smell off
Repurchase? No, I much prefer sugar scrubs.
Pros: 100% jojoba oil, no nasty ingredients or fillers, cruelty-free, extremely nourishing and softening, multipurpose (I use this as a moisturizer, for shaving and as a bath oil)
Pros: Amazing coverage, great for brightening under the eye and hiding any discolouration, adapts to your skin tone, doesn’t settle into fine lines, brush applicator makes it more sanitary than a doe foot
Cons: Find it difficult to get out near the end, can get air bubbles in it which can cause the product to shoot out
Like I mentioned I have managed to use up a ton of products this month, so keep your eyes peeled for another ‘Product Empties’ post in the next couple of weeks! You can also read my last ‘Product Empties’ post here.
