March Makeup Shake-Up

I have never done this kind of blogpost before, but as I am trying to condense my makeup collection a bit I felt like this would be something fun to do. As we all know, makeup has an expiration date. So, in an effort to use up some of my makeup I have selected products that I have had for awhile now and am going to make an effort to adamantly try and use up.

Here are the products I am focusing on using up for the month of March:

Smashbox Camera Ready BB Cream with SPF 35

Whilst I’ll keep products like blush and lipstick for ages, I am very adamant about using up face products like foundation, concealer and powder. I don’t have a ton of this BB cream left, so I figured I should make the effort to use the last bit of it up. This is a decent base product—it evens out the skin tone nicely, contains pearl pigments that help enhance the appearance of the skin, is hydrating and contains SPF. Even though I do enjoy using this, I just don’t think it is worth the expensive price tag.

e.l.f. Studio High Definition Undereye Setting Powder

I actually really like this affordable setting powder, as it helps brighten up the undereye area making me look more awake and sets concealer well. However, the small packaging is a little annoying to use, which is why I had not been reaching for it as much. Plus, I’ll typically set my makeup with my main face powder and completely forget about also applying this one. The lightweight formula of this really is great for under the eye and I have been trying to get back into the habit of remembering this quick extra step when I do my makeup in the morning.

Smashbox Brow Tech in ‘Auburn’

I’m pretty sure I bought this product when it had already been discontinued (I got it at Winners), so I have had this for a little too long. The auburn shade doesn’t quite match my hair anymore, but I feel like I can still get away with using this. Which is great, as it really is a good product and I am determined to not waste it and actually use it up. The wax is the perfect consistency and mixed with the brow powder this stuff makes filling in your brows a breeze and seriously does not budge all day long.

tarte Amazonian Clay Waterproof Bronzer

This is a mini of the full-sized version and as you can see from the pictures there is not a ton left. Which is why I figured I should just make the effort to use the last of it up. This mineral bronzer contains ingredients like vitamins A and E and blends effortlessly into the skin. It also gives your face a wonderful healthy glow thanks to the light yellow gold flecks in here. The flecks in here means it is not ideal for contouring, but for just an all over glow it works perfectly.

Doll 10 Beauty H2Glo Highlighter in ‘Champagne’

I received this product way back from Ipsy and it was one of the first highlighters I tried and I was obsessed with it. I have since realized I prefer powders over creams when it comes to highlighters, but if you prefer the latter then this is a great option. It’s a beautiful pearlescent champagne shade with a wonderful buttery texture. This is a ‘less is more’ product, as it is very concentrated and can disrupt your makeup if you use too much of it. Because of this it’ll last you for ages, so even though I highly doubt I’ll use this up by the end of the month, I am determined to at least hit pan on it.

Maybelline Line Stiletto Ultimate Precision Liquid Eyeliner

Last, but not the last, the liquid liner that just seems to never run out. This is the product out of the bunch that I have had the longest and definitely the one I have used the most, but it just does not seem to ever run out. Every so often it seems like it’s starting to dry out, but then it gets a second wind and is super wet again. I love everything about this liquid liner—the formula, the nib, the staying power and of course, the affordable price. I find it is so easy to use and I highly recommend trying this liquid liner out.
