I am so happy that it’s reading week! Even though this semester has gone by pretty fast so far, I was starting to feel a tad overwhelmed—thus, a little break was definitely needed.
Since I have to be up at 6am tomorrow for work I decided to treat myself to a little pampering this evening, in order to start reading week off on the right foot. Here are the products I have lined up for this evening:
LUSH Santa Baby Lip Scrub I know it’s so easy to make your own lip scrub, but I’m lazy and I can’t make mine taste like cherry cola like this one. I love these handmade sugar scrubs from LUSH as they gently exfoliate your lips and they all taste incredible. This one contains Ingredients like coconut milk and coconut oil, which both work together to really condition and nourish the lips. Plus, the little edible red hearts in here are absolutely adorable.
joeSCRUB Charcoal Body & Face Mask* My skin feels like it needs a really good detox, so to help it I have this charcoal scrub by Natural Joe. The activated charcoal in this scrub works to draw out impurities, tighten pores and smooth skin. I specifically use these all-natural scrubs on my face, chest, arms and the back of my legs to exfoliate and stimulate the skin. I then leave it on for about 5 minutes so the ingredients have a chance to sink in and work their magic. The result is firmer, softer and overall, healthier skin.
The Body Shop Vanilla Chai Foaming Bath Of course, I am running a bath and what I am using tonight is this seasonal scent from The Body Shop, which uses vanilla extract from Madagascar. Vanilla is one of my favourite fragrances and the spiciness in this one is really nice and relaxing. This product bubbles up nicely, is non-irritating and makes you feel like your soaking in a delicious vanilla chai latte.
The Body Shop Vanilla Chai Shower Gel To wash my body, I have the matching shower gel from this seasonal range. As I have mentioned countless times I love how well The Body Shop shower gels lather up and the fact they are soap-free, so they don’t strip the skin and instead leave my skin feeling clean and soft. I wish this fragrance was still available, as I am going to be super bummed once I finish both of these products.
Sally Hansen Instant Cuticle Remover My nails are definitely in need of a little TLC and this product is so good for helping clean up your nail bed. This gel is easy to use and really helps soften your cuticles, making them easy to push back and ‘instantly’ look better. It contains ingredients like chamomile and aloe, which help to soothe and calm the skin around your nail bed. I could do without all the parabens in this product, but since I don’t regularly use this it’s not a huge deal.
Sally Hansen Diamond Strength Instant Nail Hardener My nails have been really brittle and splitting, so I dug through my nail polish stash specifically for this polish. I used to use this all the time to help strengthen my nails, as this hardener locks in moisture to help your nails grow. Its micro-diamond and titanium formula works to create a protective shield, resulting in harder, stronger nails over time. I am not a huge fan of this as a base coat, so I just wear this alone (plus, there’s no point in painting my nails tonight when they’ll just get chipped at work tomorrow).
Kiehl’s Ultimate Strength Hand Salve Lastly, I have this sample from Kiehl’s that I am going to try out. This product has fantastic reviews, so I have pretty high hopes for it. The non-greasy, maximum-strength formula is supposed soothe, moisturize and condition the skin with a blend of botanical oils and natural wax derived from olive oil. It’s specifically designed for people that work with their hands to help protect and repair severely dry skin—so I am expecting some heavy duty stuff. If it’s as good as its reviews, I may have to purchase the full size of this.
