Back in September, I was personally invited to The B.A.B.E.S or The Beauty Artists Bloggers & Entrepreneurs Social, which was hosted by the beautiful Bili Balogun, founder of M.U.A Central. This event celebrated female empowerment and was a space where people could network and meet other creators.
There were a ton of sponsors, but my favourite was definitely Vasanti Cosmetics. Not only did I love hearing about the brand and their products, but they were also extremely generous, sending us all home with a ton of products to test out.
This was my first time trying out Vasanti Cosmetics and so far I am thrilled with the performance of their products. They are a Canadian brand and their products are also made in Canada. They are a cruelty-free company and their products are 100% vegan and paraben-free.
Here are the products I was lucky enough to receive at the event and have been testing out!
Wonders of the World Concealer in ‘Y2’ and ‘A2’* These concealers are designed to correct, cover and prime in one easy step and are the perfect consistency and exactly what I want in a concealer. They easily counteracted the discolouration and dark circles under my eyes without looking cakey or creasing. The cream formula means you can also easily cover blemishes and scars and the two colours allow you to create your perfect shade. These concealers last all day long and are oil-free so they do not slide around on your face.
Kajal Waterline Eyeliner Pencil in ‘Intense Black’* Even though I definitely did not need another black eyeliner to add to my makeup stash, this one was too good to pass over. I was a little skeptical as the packaging for it does feel a little cheap (the other products in this post do not feel that way), but luckily the product itself is anything but. This is super black and pigmented and does not tug or pull on the eye area. I love that it is self sharpening and despite my super watery eyes this has not bled or smudged on me.
Matte Crush Lipstick Pencil in ‘Red X’* I love lip pencils, but personally I do not love reds on me. However, this one definitely has a pink undertone to it despite being described as a ‘classic red’, so I will give this a proper go over the holidays. The formula of this pencil is super creamy and I love these kind of products because they are a liner and lipstick in one. These pencils are supposed to be long wearing and waterproof so I am definitely curious to test that out. I do wish this was a twist up, but you do get a sharpener with it.
Power Oils Lip Gloss in ‘Empress’* Can we talk about how absolutely gorgeous this shade is? It is totally out of my comfort zone, but I feel like a badass vampiress wearing it, especially paired with a winged liner. This non-sticky formula is infused with oils such as jojoba and raspberry seed so your lips get an extra dose of hydration and nourishment. This is incredibly pigmented and the rich blackberry shade is stunning. Since it is a gloss you will need to top it up throughout the day, but it does leave a stain on the lips and wears evenly. I would also highly recommend a lip liner with a deep shade like this.
Time After Time Gel Matte Lipstick in ‘Face Time’* This lipstick is definitely the most neutral out of the three lip products here and definitely the one I will get the most use out of. Like the other two it is super pigmented and I love that I can build up the colour of this to the intensity that I want. It is described perfectly as a ‘medium taupe plum’ and is a beautiful option for someone that loves neutrals, but wants something that makes more of a statement. And though I would not describe it as a matte, the formula is creamy, non-drying on the lips and easy to apply.
