I would say most of my weekends are pretty low key—I usually work Saturdays and Sundays are typically reserved for getting caught up on sleep, tidying, schoolwork, whatever. If I can squeeze in a yoga class at some point then for me it’s been a successful weekend.
Every so often I have a weekend that’s busier than normal and that happens to be this past weekend. So, today I’m sharing some of the products that were on the menu for this weekend.
Illamasqua Matte Veil This summer my combination skin was actually more on the drier side, but these last couple of weeks my skin has been so much more oily. This product is a godsend for oily skin as it mattifies the skin without being drying. My makeup goes on so well over top of this product and even though it isn’t the cheapest primer, it really is an absolute treat to apply.
Urban Decay Naked Skin Concealer in ‘Light Neutral’ What can I say about this concealer that the beauty world hasn’t already said? It’s constantly raved about and rightfully so. Everything from the wear time to the doe foot applicator and the shade of this is wonderful. It has a serum-like consistency, which means it feels weightless on the skin and blends flawlessly into the skin.
Illamasqua Eyebrow Cake in ‘Motto’ I’m still loving the darker brow and I’m still using this product by Illamasqua to give me that. It’s a warm taupe much more on the darker side, but I find it works well with my complexion and hair without looking too harsh. This is one of the best brow powders I have tried as there’s no fallout and it does not budge at all.
Maybelline Line Stiletto Ultimate Precision Liquid Eyeliner I have such a love/hate relationship with winged eyeliner, but I persevered and committed to wearing it Friday through Sunday. I cannot rave about this drugstore liner enough, as it really does give you a ton of precision like the name suggests and I find it’s the easiest liquid liner to use compared to others I have tried. It’s also the perfect consistency—not too wet and not too dry—and even though I have had this for ages it has not started to dry out at all.
NARS Blush in ‘Amour’ This is easily one of my favourite blushes to wear during the fall and winter. It’s described as a peachy pink on the Sephora website, but it’s definitely more of a darker pink to me. It doesn’t have any shimmer so it looks natural on the skin and I find it works with all skin tones. It is also incredibly pigmented, so a little goes a long way, and like all NARS blushes it lasts all day long.
Hanae Mori Butterfly Eau de Parfum Not technically makeup, but I have to mention my signature fragrance. It’s such a classy and feminine scent that’s subtle, but not weak. It’s an incredible blend of berries and floral along with woody notes that gives it the perfect amount of sweetness without being too sickly. I absolutely adore this fragrance and I feel like there’s nothing else quite like it.
Hope you all had a lovely weekend!
