6 Favourites | Spring Edition

Like my winter edition favourites (which you can read here), I still have not been using many new products because I haven’t really been buying anything and am still using up old products in my collection. Though I have nothing new to share in regards to skincare and bath and body products, I have been digging through my makeup stash and using different makeup products. So, today I have 6 makeup favourites to share that I have been loving during the spring season.

e.l.f. HD Lifting Concealer

I used this concealer last summer and purchased it again for my trip to Mexico in February and have been using it constantly ever since. This concealer is an amazing affordable option for concealing redness, discolouration and spots. I set it with powder and it does not budge all day. I will say the colour selection is really disappointing, as it only comes in 3 shades—all of which are pretty dark. However, with a tan the lightest shade works perfectly for me and even though my Mexico tan has mostly faded now, it has been a great option.

Illamasqua Eyebrow Cake in ‘Motto’

I bought this product online without having seen the shade, as it was on for 50% off. It’s described as a ‘warm taupe’, but I was not expecting it to be as dark as it is. I was turned off of it at first, but have recently been reaching for it for evenings when I want a darker, bolder brow. I set it with powder to mute the shade a little bit, but otherwise I am thrilled with how easy this is to use and with or without brow gel it stays in place. I also love Illamasqua packaging and this guy is so compact and adorable.

Rimmel Clear Complexion Clarifying Powder

Something I did purchase last month was this newer release from Rimmel. My skin really gets on with mineral makeup, so when I saw this I had to give it a try. I don’t find this powder mattifying, but it does give you shine-free skin for up to 5 hours and sets my makeup in place. It looks natural on the skin, has a clean fragrance and does not irritate my skin thanks to its Pureskin complex which helps clarify the skin and minimize breakouts.

Tarte Park Ave Princess Contour Palette

I purchased this beautiful palette quite awhile ago and it seems to have gotten lost among my other palettes. I rediscovered it a couple months ago and have been reaching for it regularly. I’m already a huge fan of the Park Ave Princess Bronzer as it’s matte and blends naturally into the skin, but I also love the pale pink blush and the champagne gold highlighter that is also in here. All three pair perfectly together and my skin looks instantly more radiant and healthy, whilst still looking natural.

Maybelline The Falsies Push Up Drama Mascara

I’m pretty picky when it comes to drugstore mascaras, but this one has been amazing for giving me that false lash look I’m always after. My lashes are pretty long already, so I’m more into volumizing over lengthening when it comes to mascaras. You do need a light hand applying this as it can look clumpy and I use a different mascara on my bottom lashes, but I love the overall dramatic effect this gives my lashes. I also have no problem with flaking throughout the day and it is a breeze to remove.

Softlips Maxilip Anti-Aging Lip Moisturizer

Though this isn’t really makeup, I have saved best for last with this amazing discovery. I was downtown one day and had forgotten lip balm and ran to the nearest Shoppers Drug Mart and grabbed the most inexpensive lip balm I could find. This happened to be on clearance that day, so I snatched it up and fell in love with it after the first use. This just might be the most amazing lightweight balm I have every used. It feels so conditioning on the lips and instantly relieves that tightness feeling and soothes any dryness. It’s designed to help visibly reduce fine lines thanks to ceramide and I love that it has no fragrance. It also makes a fantastic base for lipstick—definitely worth checking out!

Along with these products, I have also been loving the longer days, craft beer and the fact Game of Thrones is back!

What have you been loving for spring?
