When it comes to makeup, I am all about the nude shades. Whether it’s on the eyes, cheeks, lips or nails, nudes are always my go-to as they are the easiest and least fussy to wear, go with everything and since I’m no makeup artist, they’re the easiest for me to work with.
Today, I have rounded up my favourite nude shades in my collection that I find myself constantly reaching for. These products are all standouts in regards to formula, wear and shade.
Is there anyone that doesn’t have/love this palette? When I first started getting into more high-end makeup a few years ago this was the first palette I bought myself as it looked fool-proof. It’s rare for me to find a palette where I use every single colour in it, but with this palette I use every shade. Every colour in this palette is pigmented and perfect for creating a nude eye. I also love traveling with this as I can use a combination of ‘Naked 2’ and ‘Faint’ to fill in my brows and ‘Crave’ as an eyeliner.
It doesn’t get much more ‘nude’ than this product. This product is so close to my skintone that even when I am wearing very minimal makeup I will almost always still apply this all over my eyelids. It conceals any veins and discolouration, brightens my eyes more and also makes a perfect base for other eye shadows. I just use my finger to apply this all over my lids and I feel like for how much I use this I still have so much product left.
Tarte Cheek Stain in ‘Muse’
I wasn’t going to include this product because it was limited-edition and this is just a deluxe sample I received in a set, however, it is easily one of the best blushes I own. It is a beautiful nude shade with a hint of pink and gives your cheeks this beautiful glow and hint of colour. I didn’t realize how much I like cream blushes until I tried this product as it blends easily into the skin and gives my cheeks a dewy look. It is also so easy to apply, especially on the go, as you just swipe it across your cheeks and blend it in with your finger. Their shade ‘Exposed‘ looks very similar and plenty of people have raved about it in the powder form, so I may have to grab this one when I run out of ‘Muse’.
I was slightly obsessed with this nail polish over a year ago and though I haven’t worn it in awhile, it is still easily one of my favourite nude nail polishes. It’s a soft beige pink, is opaque in just two coats and it looks so natural and classic on the nails. I wish the wear time was longer for it, but I find that’s the case with most Essie nail polishes for me.
Essence is quickly becoming one of my favourite drugstore brands, as not only are their products incredibly affordable, a lot of them also have incredible formulas. No exception is this nude lipliner which is, in my opinion, your true nude. At around $2.00 you can’t beat the price, but it’s also just a fantastic product. It’s not too creamy, but not too stiff so I have easy precision to fill in my lips without tugging on them. I actually love wearing this alone and just applying a bit of gloss or balm over the top. I also need every other colour Essence sells of this in my collection.
When it comes to the drugstore, there’s no denying that Rimmel makes some amazing lipsticks. When I saw the Kate Moss line released a nude collection I knew I had to try them out (see my full review here). On me this is one of those ‘your lips but better’ shades, making it so easy for me wear and my go-to lipstick for during the day. It’s also very moisturizing on the lips and feels like I am wearing a balm which I love.
Believe it or not, but this is my first and only MAC lipstick I have ever owned. I have always been overwhelmed with the selection of MAC lipsticks available so this past Christmas I gave my mum a list of a few (of many) shades I wanted and let her decide. And she picked ‘Jubilee’, a beautiful beige pink that wears a bit more brown toned on my lips. I absolutely love it because it is unlike any other nude shade that I own and lustre formula means it’s a semi-gloss finish, so it’s not super creamy, but also does not feel too drying on the lips.
Last, but certainly not least, the lipstick that needs no introduction. I have raved about this lipstick countless times, so I’ll keep it short and sweet. I guess technically it’s not a nude, as it is a dusty rose shade, but dammit I don’t care! This wears like a nude on me, so I am including it in this group. I love this lipstick as a luxury option and the semi-matte formula is a happy medium in regards to creaminess and staying power. It’s amazing.
I would love to know what your favourite nudes are and what products you would recommend!
