If you are reading this on the day it is posted, then hello from Mexico! Whilst I am on holiday, I have another dozen products to share that I have used up.Mind you, some of these products (the root spray and body wash) I normally would not go through this fast—however—my sister and I were both using them. If you missed my last Product Empties post and fancy giving it a read, you can do so here.
What I have recently used up in the last month or so:
Haircare
Batiste Dry Shampoo in ‘Blush’
Pros: Affordable, smells great without being overpowering, absorbs any excess oil, volumizing
Cons: If I’ve been relying on it a bit too much (aka when I’m sick or during finals) the build up makes my scalp really itchy.
Repurchase? Yes, but I prefer the COLAB dry shampoos.
Palmer’s Coconut Oil Strong Roots Spray
Pros: Helps with hair growth, stimulates the scalp, conditions the scalp and hair, strengthens the roots, relieves any itchiness and tightness, free of parabens and sulfates, cruelty-free, affordable
Cons: Nozzle sometimes gets stuck
Repurchase? Always!
Pros: Gives my hair texture and volume, helps enhance my natural waves, sprays evenly
Cons: Expensive, drying, not big on the scent
Repurchase? No. There are drugstore options that are better.
Skincare
Pros: Extremely refreshing, perks up skin, water stays cold in the can, soothes and calms any redness and irritation, great for soothing a burn
Cons: Expensive
Repurchase? Yes, I love this stuff.
Nova Scotia Fisherman Lip Balm
Pros: Conditions lips, seals in moisture, relieves dryness, handmade, 100% natural, 93% organic, cruelty-free, free of parabens, petroleum and gluten
Cons: Packaging makes it really annoying to use (have to push the product up and down), though I don’t mind the earthy scent, it is not really the ideal scent I want on my lips during the day
Repurchase? Only if they repackaged it.
Bath & Body
Live Clean Exotic Shine Bali Oil Body Wash
Pros: Hydrates and protects dry skin, nourishing, prevents damage caused by dryness, lathers up really well, you get a lot of product for the price, free of any harsh ingredients, 98% plant derived, affordable, cruelty-free, vegan
Cons: Can’t think of anything
Repurchase? Yes.
Burt’s Bees Soothing Sensitive Aloe & Buttermilk Lotion
Pros: Lightweight, absorbs quickly, hydrating, good for sensitive skin, 99% natural, cruelty-free
Cons: Not a fan of the scent, was just not ‘wowed’ overall
Repurchase? Probably not.
Makeup
Maybelline Baby Skin Instant Pore Eraser Primer
Pros: Smooths over the skin effortlessly, leaves skin silky soft, minimizes the appearance of pores, makeup goes on easier and wears better, fragrance-free
Cons: Assuming it does not have the best ingredient list, but otherwise…no complaints
Repurchase? Yes! I love this drugstore primer.
NYX Doll Eye Mascara in Waterproof
Pros: Does not smudge or flake at all, brush makes it really easy to apply especially to the bottom lashes, non-irritating, non-clumping, cruelty-free
Cons: Does not provide enough volume, is no good once it starts to dry out, not buildable, waterproof formula means it is more drying and harder to remove
Repurchase? Yes. However, I would want to try other NYX mascaras first.
Rimmel Match Perfection 2-in-1 Concealer & Highlighter
Pros: Amazing coverage, great for brightening under the eye and hiding any discolouration, adapts to your skin tone, doesn’t settle into fine lines, brush applicator makes it more sanitary than a doe foot
Cons: Find it difficult to get out near the end
Repurchase? Yes!
Physicians Formula Mineral Wear Airbrushed Pressed Powder in ‘Creamy Natural’
Pros: Gives the skin a flawless, airbrushed look, does not break me out, skin feels like it can still breathe, talc-free, paraben-free, fragrance-free, cruelty-free
Cons: Starts to sit weird on my skin towards the end of the day, settles into the fine lines around my eyes
Repurchase? Not this shade. Would purchase the translucent one next time.
Essence All About Matt! Fixing Compact Powder
Pros: Looks incredibly natural on the skin, sets makeup perfectly, reduces shine significantly, mattifies the skin, very affordable, cruelty-free
Cons: Wish it had a mirror for on the go touch ups, I go through this very quickly
Repurchase? Definitely!
