I actually have not been loving too much product wise over the winter, as I have been using a lot of the same products and have been trying to use up a lot of old things as well. Since I have been using up old products, plus trying to save money, I do not have any new products I have recently added to my collection. That being said, these 6 products have definitely been standouts and a few of these I have mentioned in a few posts now, which really just cements my love for them.
So, without further ado…
I feel like I am constantly mentioning this product, so I’ll keep it short and sweet. This has been my go-to lip balm over the winter as it is thick, but not greasy and really nourishes and smooths my dry lips, leaving them noticeably softer. I do think it is overpriced for a lip balm or ‘mask’ as it’s called, but if you have the money it is definitely worth trying.
Currently, I have been giving my nails a bit of a break and leaving them bare, however this has easily been my favourite nail polish for the last month or so. I don’t usually like shimmery nail polishes, but I was so drawn to this shimmery silver nail polish and it just looks so pretty on the nails. This polish also dries incredibly fast—faster than any of my other Essie polishes—which has made this a favourite even more.
This has been the perfect moisturizer for the winter, as it gives my skin so much hydration without making me greasy. It offers the perfect balance of moisturizing my dry patches whilst not making my t-zone more oily. It sinks into the skin so well and my skin instantly feels softer. I have said this before, but it also is the perfect base before applying makeup, as I feel like my makeup just sits on top of my skin this time of year, but that’s not the case when I use this lotion.
I love Essence as a affordable, cruelty-free brand, so when I saw they came out with this limited edition line I had to give it a try. Not only is the packaging the cutest thing ever and extremely winter appropriate, it is also a fantastic product that does not irritate my skin. It reminds me a lot of the Glysomed Hand Cream, in regards to the scent and performance, but without the greasiness. Not only do I slather this on my hands before bed, it also is an excellent foot balm and smooths any roughness on the feet. My only complaint is that I wish it was paraben-free, but otherwise I have been loving this balm to eliminate dryness over the winter season.
I love loose sweaters and chunky knits every year, but my most loved one this winter has definitely been this one from Joe Fresh. I love the salt and pepper colour of this sweater and I love the loose, boxy fit of it as it makes it extra cozy. I used to not be a turtleneck person at all, but Victoria from Inthefrow converted me into one (she always looks fab). Though I still find fitter turtlenecks a little bit stuffy, the loose neck on this one is much more comfortable and feels like I have a scarf on. Whenever I don’t know what to wear I chuck this on, as it always makes me look effortlessly put together.
I have wanted this book for months and I finally got it this past Christmas from my mum. I am a huge Audrey Hepburn fan, ever since I saw Breakfast at Tiffany’s in my early teens, I fell in love with her. I adore everything about her from her style and class, her quirky, but undeniable beauty to her gentle nature and lovable personality. So, when I saw her son had released this biography which gives you a more personal look into her life including recipes for her favourite dishes and a ton of unseen family photos, I had to have it. This book just makes me so happy and though I am swamped with my school readings, I love picking this up when I have a bit of down time and flip through this beautiful book.
What have you been loving during the winter season this year?
