After being spoiled with mild weather for most of December, it finally decided to snow and we are now experiencing winter (though, still a more milder one in comparison to previous years). Despite that, my skin has taken a beating and is looking and feeling completely lifeless and dull. Thus, I have changed up some of my products in regards to skincare and makeup, which is what I am sharing here today. These products are all working wonders for my skin in regards to replenishing moisture, providing all day hydration and leaving me with more radiant, healthy skin.
To be honest, I really did not expect to love this moisturizer as much as I do, but my skin drinks this stuff up like nothing else I have tried. It moisturizes my dry patches, locks in moisture and does not make my more oily areas worse. It leaves me with silky smooth skin and the perfect base before applying makeup. My skin stays hydrated all day long thanks to this moisturizer even in the coldest temperatures.
I raved about this night cream last winter and have lusted over a new tub of this ever since I finished my last one. Chock-full of vitamins and minerals, this is one of those products that gives me results right away. Applying this right before bed to my dull, parched skin and letting it work its magic overnight means I wake up with skin that looks and feels instantly healthier and restored.
I got a sample of this a few months ago and absolutely loved it, so I treated myself to this when Sephora had their $20 off promotion in December. This skincare/makeup hybrid offers the same benefits of a BB, CC and tinted moisturizer combined. It is sheer-to-medium coverage and great for everyday. My skin looks so much more awake and radiant when I wear this thanks to mineral electrolytes, marine botanicals and antioxidants.
I have not used this concealer in ages, as I have been loving the Rimmel Match Perfection 2-in-1 Concealer & Highlighter, but I recently decided to purchase this again and my love for it has been rekindled. I only use this concealer under my eyes and it works perfectly to conceal the horrible discolouration I have around my eyes thanks to its high coverage formula and I instantly look more awake and rested. This concealer also does not crease on me and wears all day long.
An extremely expensive powder, but worth the splurge in my opinion. Though I try to use this sparingly, as I want it to last as long as possible, I love sweeping this onto my skin to set my makeup and give me an all over illuminated glow. These powders work to filter out harsh light and capture, diffuse and soften the look of the skin. So, whether I am outside, under the most unflattering of light or being photographed I feel so much more confident when I am wearing this luxurious powder.
With the colder weather and as someone who breathes through their mouth, my lips have been extremely dry to the point of peeling, which is not attractive and super annoying. So, to get rid of any dry skin I have been using this lip scrub religiously. You can easily make your own sugar lip scrub, but for convenience these ones by Lush are really great. Castor sugar and cold pressed organic jojoba oil work to both exfoliate and nourish my lips and the sweet mint flavour is just added bonus points.
After exfoliating my lips, I have been slathering this all over my lips day and night. It’s a natural leave-on lip mask that works to smooth, nourish and moisturize your lips and this is the only thing that has been saving my lips at the moment. Though it contains some fantastic ingredients like jojoba, olive and grape oil, I was disappointed to find out this contains lanolin (fatty substance found on sheep’s wool) and I really wish they would remove this ingredient from this product. Another fantastic lip balm that feels equally as rich and thick on the lips is the C.O. Bigelow My Favorite Night Balm, which in my opinion works just as good as the Bite one, but at less than a third of the price.
