Last Thursday, I went to the Toronto Christmas Market at the Distillery District. I had never been, so I was so excited to finally be able to check it out. I also was happy with how my makeup turned out, so I wanted to share that here today!
If you know me by now, then you know I am not too daring with my makeup and for the most part keep it pretty basic. However, some of these products are absolutely fantastic and definitely worth sharing. I also am quite impressed with how my winged liner turned out (as the end result is always unpredictable for me).
I first primed my face and eyes with the Maybelline Baby Skin Instant Pore Eraser Primer and The Body Shop All-In-One Instablur Eye Primer, both of which smooth over imperfections and leave me with a flawless base. To conceal my under eye area and any redness I used the Urban Decay Naked Skin Concealer in ‘Light Neutral’ and for any spots I used the Physicians Formula Conceal Rx Concealer in ‘Natural Light’. Both are amazing concealers that do exactly what they say.
To set everything and minimize any shine I used the Essence Cosmetics All About Matt! Fixing Compact Powder which is seriously one of the best affordable powders I have tried. I reached for my much loved NARS Light Reflecting Pressed Setting Powder to give my skin a more illuminated look and I bronzed up my pale skin and contoured with The Body Shop Honey Bronze Bronzing Powder. This bronze looks so natural and is easy to apply. For blush, I went with an oldie, but a goodie—NARS Blush in ‘Orgasm’.
Eyes & Brows
For filling in my brows I still love my Chella Eyebrow Color Pencil in ‘Tantalizing Taupe’ and to set my brows in place I used the Maybelline Eye Studio Brow Drama in ‘Blonde’. I have mentioned a few times now that I am not won over by this product because of the wand, but I do like the formula. For my winged liner I used the Maybelline Line Stiletto Ultimate Precision Liquid Eyeliner, which I cannot recommend enough. Though it can smudge I find this product so easy to use and I have had this for ages (probably should retire it soon) however, it is still so intensely black. For my lashes I am still in love with the Clinique High Impact Mascara and I also used my Clinique Bottom Lash Mascara which is sadly starting to dry out. To highlight my brow bone, inner corner and Cupid’s bow I applied the Chella Ivory Lace Highlighter Pencil which is just a dream to use.
Lastly, on my lips I applied my Bite Beauty High Pigment Pencil in ‘Rhubarb’. I have had this product for a little while now, but have only really been loving it the last couple of months. It is a beautiful, build able plum rose and I love dabbing the excess off for a more matte look.
The finished look:
The Christmas Market was adorable and I felt so cozy and festive walking around with all the lights strung above us. It did start to get quite packed, but I still enjoyed some beer and food on the Mill St. Brew Pub‘s heated patio, finally tried mulled wine (loved it) and got my cheesy mistletoe photo with my love.
If you live near or in the city, I highly recommend checking out the Toronto Christmas Market (it is here until December 20th). There’s so many cute little shops throughout the cobblestone roads and it is the perfect place to get in the holiday spirit with friends, family or even your pup, while sipping some hot chocolate or mulled wine.
