If you’re a beauty addict like myself then you are probably aware this past weekend was the Sephora 20% off sale for VIB and VIB Rouge members. The last couple of years I went with gift sets, but this year I decided to treat myself to some luxury products I have had my eye on. I also had a gift card from my birthday, which I had specifically been saving for this moment, so these products only ended up costing me $50. Perfect for someone on a student budget like myself.
My luxury treats include:
I had a 1 oz deluxe sample of this night cream last winter and could not believe the life this stuff gave my skin—dullness was non-existent. I raved about it back in this post, the deal breaker being that it was out of my price range, but I haven’t stopped thinking about it since. I am so happy to have this cream again especially right before we get into winter. Like the name suggests this cream is packed with vitamins and minerals and helps hydrate my skin, clear up any imperfections and even out my skin tone. I went with the oil-free formula this time since I have combination skin, so I hope it performs just as well as the original.
There’s no denying that I am obsessed with my Hourglass Ambient Lighting Palette, but at the rate I was going with ‘Incandescent Light’—which is exclusive to the palette—I was definitely going to use it up before the other two powders. I wanted another Hourglass product to use as a setting powder and went with ‘Ethereal Light’ which is described as an ‘opalescent sheer, cool white powder that mimics a moonlit glow even in broad daylight’. The Hourglass powders really do give your skin this incredible lit from within glow thanks to Photoluminescent technology which captures, diffuses and softens the look of the skin. It filters out harsh light so you not only look amazing in person, but also in photographs.
Last, but not least, is this lipstick, which is the real star of the show. Never in a million years did I think I would own a YSL lipstick, but ever since I got into beauty I have had my eyes on these lipsticks because of the luxurious packaging. Of course I went with a nude shade and this one is described as a spicy warm beige which is a smidgen darker than my natural lip colour. It also has subtle shimmer in it which gives your lips a luminous look. The formula itself is extremely moisturizing, offering 8 hours of hydration and since it is not a typical solid lipstick the product just glides onto the lips and is really easy to wear. The lipstick is also packed with vitamins and antioxidants protecting your lips from free radicals, locking in moisture and leaving you with smoother, softer lips.
