Last Friday, I attended the Stephan Caras Spring/Summer 2016 runway show showcasing their FLORAL collection. I attended the Mercedes-Benz Start Up Semi-Final Show in August (see my post here) and absolutely loved it, so I was so excited to have been invited to a show at World MasterCard Fashion Week, which focuses on Canadian designers.
A veteran designer, Stephan Caras was born in Greece, studied in Australia and has an incredibly extensive resume in regards to education and fashion. He’s been all over the world, giving him an international vision for design. He has called Toronto home for decades now and the city is where Stephan Caras Design House Inc is based. By his side he has his son, Kyriako Caras, the future of the Caras brand. Having spent his childhood in his father’s studio, it’s only natural that Kyriako also developed a passion towards fashion.

I absolutely love this jacket from Sheinside (apparently the brand is now called ‘SheIn’) and I really do not wear it enough. I tried to keep the rest of my outfit chic, but effortless and added my fog blue side bag for a bit of colour.
My sister braved the cool weather and opted for bare legs with a leather skirt, a blush pink knit, ankle boots and a structured handbag.
Though I didn’t really get any good photos of my makeup, I still figured I would share the products I used, as I was really happy with how my makeup looked and lasted all night. I went with my usual glowy skin and pinky nude lip, but added a dark green winged liner, which I absolutely love.
(amazing moisturizer to use before makeup application)
Before the show we went to the Hey Lucy Cafe which is right by the venue for some wine and a quick bite to eat. I’m slightly obsessed with their antipasto platter, which is vegetarian and comes with an assortment of grilled, marinated and roasted items. We also split the kale salad which was lemon rubbed kale, dried cranberries, walnuts, parmesan cheese and a lemon herb dressing. This place never disappoints me.
The show took place at the World MasterCard Fashion Week Tent at David Pecaut Square and had a ton of sponsors there including Juicy Couture and Maybelline New York. They also had on display the Star Wars inspired looks created by finalists in anticipation of the new Star Wars film, Star Wars: The Force Awakens.
Now, onto the show itself. The pieces were inspired by the sensuality and delicacy of the blossom and were so feminine and lovely. The collection included both flowy pieces and structured pieces and seemed to involve two different looks. The first was more playful pieces with colourful floral and polka dot patterns and the second was much more sophisticated with cream and black pieces containing delicate lace and embroidery. The collection also combined the two styles mixing the sophisticated and playful together which surprisingly worked really well together.

I hope you enjoyed this post! I had such a fun time at the show and I am so thankful that I was able to attend!
