Two products that I think most bloggers are well acquainted with, but I figured it’s finally time for me to share my love for these newer launches by Rimmel London.
The Kate Moss for Rimmel range is already hugely popular, with both the Lasting Finish Lipsticks and Lasting Finish Matte Lipsticks being favourites among a lot of people. The newest addition to this range are the Lasting Finish Nude Collection Lipsticks, as well as a Conditioning Lip Balm. Unlike the previous lipsticks, which are housed in more edgy black and red tubes, these lipsticks come in light pink tubes, with the balm in a sleek white one. This packaging is especially aesthetically pleasing to me and before even knowing whether or not the products were good, I knew I needed to get my hands on them.
Packaging aside, both products are fantastic and perform really well for drugstore lip products. They are also super affordable at around $6.99 each. The lipsticks have that sweet, candy-like smell like the other Rimmel lipsticks, which I personally really like as it isn’t too sickly. The lip balm however smells like iced tea to me, which is kinda weird, but I actually like it.
The Kate Conditioning Lip Balm really is conditioning on the lips and is not only a great lip balm on its own, but the perfect hydrating base before you apply your lip colour. This balm was specifically created as the sidekick for the lipsticks, but you can of course pair it with anything. It promises to keep lips moisturized for up to 8 hours, which I agree with—I hate that feeling when your lip colour has mostly worn off and your lips start to feel tight and dry. Even after my lip colour had worn off my lips still felt soft and hydrated. This product is not intended to pro long the wear of your lip colour, so you’ll still need to use a lip liner before if you want more staying power.
The Lasting Finish Nude Collection by Kate comes in 5 shades, however, in Canada we only have 4 shades for some reason. I went with the shade ’45’ which is the darkest shade out of the 4, as it was the closest to my lip colour, so I could achieve that ‘your lips but better’ look. The lipstick looks really dark in the tube (and even darker in photographs), but it just provides a sheer wash of colour on the lips to enhance your natural lip colour but, you can build it up if you want greater intensity. These apply really creamy on the lips and like the balm, provide up to 8 hours of moisture. I have especially loved wearing this for school, as it’s so easy to apply and wear. If you’re not a lipstick person or are just getting into lipstick, I think these could win you over.
Overall, I would highly recommend both the lip balm and lipstick!
