Last Monday was back to University for me and I was also volunteering at the Toronto International Film Festival. Add in being on antibiotics and cutting out caffeine and it was quite the exhausting week.
My goal this fall is to successfully juggle both school and my blog. Yes, my studies of course come first, but my blog is still really important to me as well. I want to make sure no matter the situation, that I still have regular content to post on here. This means preparing blogposts in advance, as I had not done that last week, which is why I have not posted in over a week (slaps wrist). I definitely need to plan and organize each week accordingly—which, thankfully, I love doing.
Anyways, here’s my outfit and makeup for the first day of school!
Top – Old Navy
Jeans – Old Navy
Shoes – H&M
Bag – H&M
Sunglasses – Ray-Ban
A super comfortable, fuss-free outfit for my first day of classes. I love this loose striped tunic, which I snatched up at Old Navy for only $6.00. I also wore a pair of their Rockstar skinny jeans which are so comfortable. For years I disliked wearing jeans, but it seems my love for denim has been rekindled. I added my favourite tote, my most over worn pair of loafers and my Ray-Ban Original Wayfarers to complete this laid-back look.
On my nails, I just have a sheer coat of OPI’s ‘Bubble Bath’, as I have been loving nude nails lately. For accessories I wore my hammered coin ring and brown leather braided bracelet, both of which I got at a shop in Guatemala. The other bracelet I got at a shop near my friend’s cottage.
I also kept my makeup really laid-back and fuss-free. I primed my face with my Illamasqua Matte Veil to minimize any shine, as well as used The Body Shop All-In-One Instablur Eye Primer which is both an amazing neutralizer and base for concealers and eyeshadows. I used one of my favourite drugstore concealers, Rimmel Match Perfection Concealer in Fair/Light and for extra coverage I set everything with The Body Shop Extra Virgins Mineral Powder Foundation. For blush and contour (which I should of blended in better, welp), I used my Sephora Bronzed and Blushing Face Palette, which I love, but was limited-edition. I filled my brows in with my Chella Eyebrow Color Pencil in ‘Tantalizing Taupe’ and then for mascara and lipstick I tested out two new products. Firstly, I (finally) tried the much talked about Benefit Roller Lash Mascara which I redeemed 100 points for at Sephora. I do like it, but I definitely prefer the Benefit They’re Real! Mascara, as it gives me more volume. On my lips I wore Rimmel Kate Moss Lasting Finish Nude Lipstick in ’45’, which is a definite winner and a blogpost will soon be following.
Whether you’re reading this and are also back at school or maybe back at work, I hope you all had a great week back!
