Today, I have more trash to share! If you want to read my first ‘Product Empties’ post from December click here. And if you have no idea what I’m talking about and are just wondering why I have dedicated a blogpost to my trash, allow me to clarify: ‘Product Empties’ are where I talk about a dozen products I have used up and give my opinion in regards to pros, cons and ultimately, if I would repurchase it. Personally, I find these kinds of posts/videos really helpful. Plus, I’m nosey and like seeing what products people have used up.
Let’s delve into my trash:
Haircare
Live Clean Volumizing Shampoo & Conditioner – $6.99 each
Pros: Free of any harsh ingredients (like SLS), smells great, gives my hair volume, affordable, cruelty-free, vegan, shampoo lathers up well
Cons: Wish the conditioner was thicker (personal preference)
Repurchase? Yes.
Batiste Dry Shampoo in ‘Wild’ – $6.99 to $9.99
Pros: Absorbs excess oil, gives my hair texture and volume, smells great without being overpowering (this one is my favourite scent)
Cons: Can make my scalp itchy if I have been relying on it a bit too much, I find this scent is the hardest to find in store
Repurchase? Yes.
Skincare
Michael Todd True Organics Jojoba Charcoal Facial Scrub – $21.00
Pros: Gentle yet effective, non-irritating, skin always feels soft after using this, helped clear blemishes, 70% organic, no nasty ingredients or synthetic fragrance, cruelty-free
Cons: Can only get it online
Repurchase? Yes.
Live Clean Glowing Daily Serum – $22.99
Pros: 98% plant-based, vegan, cruelty-free, contains certified organic botanicals
Cons: Didn’t really do anything for my skin, didn’t like how it sat on my skin, expensive for a drugstore product
Repurchase? No.
Burt’s Bees Sensitive Facial Cleansing Towelettes – $9.99
Pros: Cruelty-free, fragrance-free, despite being fragrance-free these wipes smell delicious (?), 99% natural, easily removes makeup, leaves my skin feeling clean and smooth, packaging keeps all the wipes moist (there’s that dreaded word again)
Cons: Nadda
Repurchase? Already have!
Badger Creamy Cocoa Butter Lip Balm – $5.99
Pros: All natural and certified organic, only contains 8 ingredients, cruelty-free, extremely moisturizing and offers long lasting moisture, multipurpose (can use on cuticles and any dry patches)
Cons: Don’t really like how large it is
Repurchase? Probably, but would want to try their other lip balms first!
Bath & Body
Michael Todd True Organics Walnut Grapefruit Body Polish – $16.00
Pros: Love the smell, hydrating, 70% organic, cruelty-free, non-abrasive, smooths skin
Cons: Way too runny even after shaking it, top didn’t close properly
Repurchase? No, it was an absolute mess to use in the shower.
Palmer’s Cocoa Butter Body Lotion – around $5.99
Pros: Evens skin tone, paraben-free, cruelty-free, inexpensive, smells like hot chocolate, dry skin is nonexistent for me with this product
Cons: Honestly cannot think of anything
Repurchase? Yes. Forever & Always.
Aura Cacia Sesame Oil – $6.99
Pros: Extremely moisturizing, absorbs quickly, amazing health benefits, affordable, 100% pure botanical ingredients, cruelty-free
Cons: Doesn’t come in the large size (only 4 fl oz)
Repurchase? Yes, definitely! I might do a blogpost on this product.
Makeup
Sonia Kashuk Liquid Light Concealer – $8.99
Pros: Easy to apply, blends well, long lasting, brightens the under eye well, cruelty-free
Cons: Only comes in two shades, can only get it at Target
Repurchase? Yes…if Target wasn’t closing </3
Rimmel Match Perfection 2-in-1 Concealer & Highlighter – $6.99
Pros: Amazing coverage, great for brightening under the eye and hiding any discolouration, adapts to your skin tone, brush applicator makes it more sanitary than a doe foot
Cons: The applicator actually broke on it making more difficult to apply near the end (hoping it was just a dud I had)
Repurchase? Probably!
