Ready in 15 Minutes

IMG_5421I am the type of person who likes to get up at least an hour before I need to be out the door. I hate the feeling of being rushed and I feel like it starts my day off in a negative way. Don’t get me wrong I enjoy those extra minutes of sleep as much as the next person, but I enjoy being able to sit and leisurely drink my tea and eat my breakfast more. However, occasionally I do sleep through my alarm or—the more likely scenario—I am up early scrambling to finish a paper for school, which leaves me with barely 15 minutes till I need to be out the door. This picture accurately sums up those mornings: dont-let-your-printer-know-youre-in-a-hurryLuckily, I seem to have my 15 minute routine down pat for those days. Here are my saviours for those mornings with a rocky start:

The first thing that usually floods my brain on these particular mornings, is if I am able to dedicate a few minutes to a quick shower. For these kind of days I usually can’t and in those instances I have been reaching for the Pacifica Tahitian Gardenia Hand & Body Lotion Wipes. These wipes are super hydrating, smell lovely, are vegan, cruelty-free and free of sulfates, petrolatum, parabens, SLS and phthalates. I also do not have time to do my morning skincare routine, so I grab my trusty Sephora Triple Action Cleansing Water and a cotton round, to get rid of any lingering dirt and oil. This stuff leaves my skin feeling a lot cleaner and it also feels so refreshing on the skin.

Next, I kill two birds with one stone and use my e.l.f Tinted Moisturizer with SPF 20. It blends in incredibly well, evens out my skin tone and I am always so impressed how great my skin looks after applying this. A little of the Sonia Kashuk Liquid Light Concealer brightens up my undereyes and and also conceals any pesky blemishes. The doe foot applicator also means it takes no time to apply. As always, I set everything with my Sonia Kashuk Undetectable Pressed Powder, which is just an all around great translucent powder. I cannot leave the house without filling in my brows, but I do not have time to fuss with a pencil or powder. Measurable Difference Brow Amplifying Tint & Lift is the best tinted brow gel I have tried, as I love how natural it looks and it is so easy to apply. If I have an extra minute to spare I’ll apply a quick coat of mascara. However, if I don’t I know I’ve got it, along with all my other essentials, in my bag which I talk about in this post.

I usually cannot be arsed with my hair most days, so all I do is use some dry shampoo and maybe a bit of hairspray. I just started using the COLAB Dry Shampoo in ‘Rio’ (I found it at Winners) and I’m very impressed so far. It is not as white as other dry shampoos and it absorbs all the excess oil and smells amazing. If I am not having a horrid hair day I’ll just wear it down and natural, but if it is being particularly fussy, then I will either chuck a hat on or throw it up in a bun.

I am a firm believer that breakfast is the most important meal of the day and I never skip it. However, these mornings mean I need something quick and preferably to-go. I cannot function without a bit of caffeine, so I’ll grab this travel mug from Starbucks and make some green tea, as it is the quickest option. I got this mug for Christmas and I cannot recommend it enough, as it does not leak at all and keeps your drink hot for hours (seriously, hours). They also have so many cute designs. I try to always have Clif Bars on hand for these particular days when I don’t have time to eat a proper breakfast, but need something to keep me going, until I can grab something more substantial. I like these bars as they keep me satiated for awhile, give me a boost of energy and are 70% organic, contain 23 vitamins and minerals and are also dairy-free.

Toque – American Apparel

Sweater – Talula (old)

Lastly, a generous sprits of The Body Shop Vanilla Eau de Toilette to finish things off and I am out the door! What are your go-to products for these particular days?
